Etsy

No new projects to post today, but I am super excited to let you know that I have finally got my Etsy shop up and running! (There is a link to my shop on the right side of this page under my profile.) I only have a few things listed so far, but hope to add more daily. I have lots of creations completed, just sitting here waiting to find their new homes.

Thanks for stopping by! ~Shelbie

What I have been up to between naps!

For the last month or so, I have pretty much felt like crud! I am slowly getting back to normal but have still not been released to go back to work. So my days consist of crafts and naps. (I still get wiped out pretty easily.) I haven't done any paper crafting. In fact, the last thing that I made with paper was the Valentine that I made for a challenge.

I have the sewing machine out and have been making convertible bags. I saw a girl with one of these and thought it was really cool. After scouring the net for them, I wasn't able to find one like hers was, so I made my own pattern for it. I am quite happy with how it came out and am actually going to list a few on Etsy!

It is a shoulder bag. If you pull the nickel loops up to the top of the handles, it becomes a backpack. If you would like a shoulder bag that hangs a little lower, there are D rings that will allow you to move the handles to the top so that the bag hangs lower. Depending on your size, you may even be able to wear it cross-body with the handles in this position. It's basically like having 3 (or 4) bags in one!

This one is multi colored. This was the first one that I made so I didn't go buy special material for it. I just used a jelly roll of scrap pieces that I had.

This is the first one made out of cotton canvas material. (This is home decor material and even though it is 100% cotton, it is dry clean only.) It turned out really nice and is quite sturdy. I am pleased enough with it that I have decided to make a few more and attempt to sell them on etsy!

This one is different. It doesn't have the D rings to change the handles. It is strictly either a shoulder bag or a back pack.

This shows the inside. On all of the bags I made 2 large slip pockets on the inside. I won't carry a bag if there aren't at least a couple of slip pockets inside!

Okay, enough about the bags! (I get really excited about them!)

I love "Ugg style" boots. I have a couple pairs of these and when it is cold outside, these are on my feet. Well, since I haven't gotten to go anywhere other than the Dr.'s office for the past month, I haven't gotten to wear my boots' (I'm not one to wear my shoes/boots in the house.) So, I got out my crochet hooks and whipped myself up a pair of "Ugg style" boot slippers! I love them! I have to make another pair so that I can write down my pattern as I go. I don't know why I didn't do this when I made the first pair!

I saved the best for last! I have been very blessed in the fact that I not only grew up very close to my grandmother, but to my great grandmother as well. These two women where more like best friends than they were mother and daughter. And I hate to break it to you Martha Stewart, but you didn't have ANYTHING on my grandmas! Our family lost both of them last year. Great grandma first, and then exactly 8 months to the day later, grandma. My mom grabbed a few of their "house coats" and pj's for me and I turned them into this quilt. Of course, as I laid this out to take a picture of it, Daisy Mae thought she should try it out and got right in the middle of it!

And here is what my dear sweet Eric made me for Valentine's Day! Isn't it pretty?!

So that is what I have been up to. Thanks for stopping by!
